This character set maps some numbers or code points to textual characters. There are some conventions that define which number will represent which character. The computer stores them as numbers (as binary, to be precise). I mean, the computer doesn’t know characters, letters, etc., nor does it store them as such in memory. ![]() But do you know that characters are just code representations? The primary component of a String is a Character, but you probably already know that.
